This study examines the dynamics of culture shock and the communication adaptation process among students in the Fo Guang Shan Indonesia environment. The issue arises from the challenges students face in adjusting to values, norms, and communication practices different from their native culture. The research aims to describe the communication adaptation process and its supporting factors. The method employed is library research through a review of books, journals, reports, and relevant literature. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify patterns and relationships among findings. Results indicate that culture shock, in the context of the Fo Guang Shan community, can transform into a positive experience that strengthens students’ identities and communication skills. The study concludes that a supportive environment can turn adaptation challenges into an enriching cross-cultural learning process.
